AI Favorites

Because I couldn’t use facebook the other night for fear that more friends would be tagged by porn videos of Justin Bieber, I was forced to research on this season’s American Idol. To my recollection, the last time I watched AI was when Jasmine Trias (half-Hawaiian, half-Filipina) was still a hopeful. So that was ages ago.

It tickled my interest this time around because of Jessica Sanchez (half-Mexican, half-Filipina) about whom I first read in professional heckler’s blog. Well, I think since Jasmine, there had been half-Filipina wannabes who made it to the top 24 or top 12 (don’t ask me to enumerate, as I said, I did not watch it for years). But 16-year old Jessica is really something. I even watched her covers and was amazed that she really sounds like Beyonce and I think her version of “Someone Like You” is better than Adele’s. But nothing beats her rendition of the late great Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You,” which made Randy tell everyone that she’s the best talent America has right now. Here it is, I watched it a hundred times already:

I don’t think anyone else can overpower Jessica. If she loses AI, it only means there are more girl voters in America who voted for hot, hot, hot — Phil Phillips! (I don’t like Colton, he sounds like Justin Bieber.)

He is a god. My heart stops whenever I look at him. He reminds me of Edward Cullen. He also has a voice which would make you wanna leave the one you’re with and sleep with him. In one comment in youtube a bitch girl even said she wants to have sex with his voice (phone-sex?). Well, he is sexy — overall. Anyway, I hope it will be Phil and Jessica in the finals.

I also wish that Deandre Brackensick will stay on. I couldn’t get enough of him, I feel that he has more to show, even if I think he’s gay (I hope it’s not true). His falsetto is also orgasmic heavenly. It makes J.Lo close her eyes and do that thing. We had the likes of Jessica, with powerful voices, and Phil, rockers, in AI before, but Deandre’s style is fresh: voice-wise and appearance-wise.

Another breath of fresh air in AI is Heejun Han. He’s soooo cute, he’s Korean (one of my favorite peoples in the world) and he’s sooo not like the gay guy who sang “Jesus Take the Wii” in my previous post. I am very happy he made it to the top 10, although I know it’s just a matter of time before he says goodbye. I don’t think J.Lo’s fondness of him could make him win. Unless the Korean or Asian community in the US has gotten that big. He cries all the time but everytime he does that, you’d love him even more. I love this interview of him:

Mostly water! Hahaha! He’s really funny. I don’t care if he could sing better than the others or not. I love him!

Anyway, I hope I get to watch more of these four. I hope I can vote, too!
